Dental cotton rolls

Uses

These are dental-specific cotton rolls

Isolate the operative area: During dental procedures such as fillings and root canal therapy, they isolate saliva and blood, keep the operative area dry, and improve treatment precision.
Absorb fluids: Quickly adsorb saliva, blood, and irrigation solution in the oral cavity to maintain a clear surgical field of view.
Compression hemostasis: Patients bite down lightly on the cotton roll at extraction sites or post-operative wounds to assist with hemostasis.
Drug delivery vehicle: Can be dipped in disinfectant or soothing medications and placed on affected areas (e.g., gums) for local administration.

Instructions

Select the appropriate size of cotton roll based on the dimensions of the operative area.
Use tweezers to grasp the cotton roll and place it around the operative area (e.g., mandibular buccal groove, maxillary palatal side) to isolate saliva.
Replace the cotton roll promptly once it becomes soaked to maintain a dry operative area.
If used for hemostasis, instruct the patient to bite down lightly on the cotton roll for 30–40 minutes before removal. After treatment, ensure the cotton roll is completely removed to prevent accidental ingestion.
