Ensure the sterilization package (e.g., instrument pack) is tightly wrapped with neat, secure seals. Cut a length of tape appropriate for the package seal, apply it to cover the entire seal area, and press firmly to ensure full adhesion at the edges. Use a permanent marker to label the tape with the instrument name, sterilization date, and expiration date. Place the sealed package into an autoclave and run the cycle according to standard parameters (e.g., 134°C for 3–4 minutes, or 121°C for 15–20 minutes). After sterilization, inspect the tape: if the diagonal stripes have turned dark brown/black, sterilization is confirmed effective; if no color change occurs, re-sterilize the package. Store sterilized packages in a dry, clean environment. Before use, always verify the tape’s color change to confirm valid sterilization before opening the package.
