Steam indicator tape

Uses

This is Autoclave Sterilization Indicator Tape, a specialized consumable for verifying sterilization effectiveness in medical settings.

Sterilization Effect Verification: Applied to the seals of autoclave-sterilized packages, it visually confirms whether the package has undergone effective sterilization via a color change of its diagonal stripes (typically from off-white to dark brown/black).
Package Sealing & Securing: Simultaneously seals and stabilizes sterilization packages (e.g., crepe paper wraps, sterilization pouches) to prevent loosening during processing and storage.
Traceability Management: Allows for labeling of instrument names, sterilization dates, and expiration dates directly on the tape, facilitating traceability and management of sterile items.

Instructions

Ensure the sterilization package (e.g., instrument pack) is tightly wrapped with neat, secure seals.
Cut a length of tape appropriate for the package seal, apply it to cover the entire seal area, and press firmly to ensure full adhesion at the edges.
Use a permanent marker to label the tape with the instrument name, sterilization date, and expiration date.
Place the sealed package into an autoclave and run the cycle according to standard parameters (e.g., 134°C for 3–4 minutes, or 121°C for 15–20 minutes).
After sterilization, inspect the tape: if the diagonal stripes have turned dark brown/black, sterilization is confirmed effective; if no color change occurs, re-sterilize the package.
Store sterilized packages in a dry, clean environment. Before use, always verify the tape’s color change to confirm valid sterilization before opening the package.
